TRENT

Information, knowledge exchange, networking: The "TRENT" competence centre is intended to promote cooperation between Baden-Württemberg and the Chinese partner province of Jiangsu. It is currently being established by the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) and the Baden-Württemberg Agency for Environmental Technology and Resource Efficiency, Umwelttechnik BW (UTBW). Together, they aim to promote the development of innovative solutions in the fields of environmental monitoring and protection, water and recycling management as well as resource management and bioeconomy.

In its function as a central platform for information, knowledge exchange, and networking, the "TRENT" competence center will bring together companies and scientists from KIT, other Baden-Württemberg universities, and Chinese partners. Together, relevant environmental problems, especially in the fields of environmental monitoring and protection, water management, recycling and resource management, and bioeconomy, will be identified and the development of innovative environmental technology solutions will be promoted. The integration of the Global Advanced Manufacturing Institute (GAMI), a branch of KIT in Suzhou, and the office of Baden-Württemberg International in Nanjing into the project ensures that the knowledge and networks already existing in Jiangsu can be used for the competence center.

In this context, the ENMINSA working group is responsible for setting up the scientific department of TRENT.
