Research activities
My research interests are to understand the mobility of metals related to the metamorphism in a subduction zone.
When a slab goes in subduction pressure and temperature increase and rocks are re-equilibrated successively into greenschist, lawsonite-, epidote- and eclogite metamorphic facies. During this process, significant devolatization from the hydrated altered oceanic crust occurs during the lawsonite/epidote-blueschist transition and during the epidote-blueschist/eclogite. The mobilization of Au and related elements during slab devolatilization and its impact on the mantle metal fertility is not well known. Investigation of metal mobilization during subduction–related metamorphism could provide new information on metal fluxes in the lithosphere and possibly on the early stages of hydrothermal ore deposit formation in supra-subduction zone arc environments.
