PhD Day 2026

The PhD Days were successfully held and provided a dynamic platform for scientific exchange within the AGW community. Organized by the postdoctoral researchers Antonin Bilau (Geochemistry and Economic Geology), Laura Spitzmüller (Geothermy), and Jasmin Ölmez (Structural Geology and Tectonics), the event brought together PhD candidates (more than 20) from different research areas and offered most of them the opportunity to present their work in a relaxed and supportive environment. The program combined ice-breaker activities, a presentation of KHYS opportunities (with special thanks to Claire Earnshaw and Andreas Hahmann), and a wide range of scientific talks covering topics such as skarn systems, magma evolution, CO₂ storage, geothermal resources, and fluid flow in geological systems. Participants also engaged in round-table discussions, including sessions on how to design effective scientific posters, alongside poster presentations and experience sharing by Sara Kimmig and Antonin Bilau. Overall, the event fostered both scientific discussion and interdisciplinary interaction, strengthening connections across teams and research fields.
