The nine-day excursion is mandatory for the Bachelor of Applied Geosciences program and is scheduled for the fourth semester. We head for different locations in Germany to give a comprehensive overview of regional and general geology in the field. This ranges from volcanism and magmatism to metamorphism to deposit formation and paleoclimate. We visit outcrops that are almost unique in the world and some type localities. The detailed itinerary may change slightly from year to year.
